... There are 2 types of combination vaccines that include protection against whooping cough:
DTaP
Tdap
The letter "T" in DTaP and Tdap shows they also help protect against tetanus. The letter "D/d" in DTaP and Tdap shows they also help protect against diphtheria ...

My grandmother told me that she and her friend both had whooping cough at the same time when they were kids - in the early 1900s. I thought it had been eradicated since.

And it was covered by Medicare

I have a checkup at the doctor's next month and I'll be sure to ask about getting this vax. I got my flu shot the last time and my arm did hurt afterwards.
