When Stacey Abrams ran for Georgia governor, I was hoping so much that she'd win. Not only because she was the better candidate, but I knew how much it would mean to Jimmy Carter to have a Black woman in the job that he once held! I mean Carter's Lieutenant Governor was segregationist Lester Maddox!
