Rachel Maddow on Pam Bondi: Five things to know about Trump's (second) pick for Attorney General - Rachel Maddow MSNBC

How much will Americans get to know about the people Donald Trump is choosing to run the U.S. government? In the absence of any real vetting the way it's usually done, Rachel Maddow presents a Rachel Maddow Show Public Servant Announcement to hopefully help fill that gap.

In this episode, Rachel takes a closer look at Trump's choice for Attorney General, Pam Bondi, who has been working closely with Trump, despite not being given a role in his first administration, showing commitment to his causes, including the prosecution of his political opponents. While Bondi is not highly regarded for her abilities, she does benefit from comparison to Trump's first choice for Attorney General, former Rep. Matt Gaetz. - 01/10/2025.

I get accused of bashing the State of Florida. When I point out all the flaws of State Government & the evil they produce, I'm told it's not all about politics and Florida is a nice place to live. Don't believe me? PM me for the proof.

I've posted before that we were redistricted in 2013, inherited a moderate Democratic Rep. from up north, but when he retired in 2015 I went to the meetup where he introduced his chosen successor. I liked him a lot, made GOTV calls for him, but he inexplicably lost to national embarrassment Stefanik. At first there were mass protests, but she's inexplicably gotten reelected ever since though there were billboards throughout the district calling for her resignation after her support of TFG during his impeachment hearings.

We may be rid of her soon, there'll be a Special Election, she's off to torture others, I just hope that the voters here don't choose someone even worse.

I used to pass this billboard on my way home:

We have Desantis, Bondi, Gaetz, Scott, Rubio & the list goes on. Oh, let's not forget TFG. Florida was solid blue till 1999 then the crazies started taking over. It's been pure hell ever since.

I just want to add here that I enjoy your posts, I also enjoy working with you on MIRT & you help make DU an enjoyable place to visit.

Keep up the great work!

Since my area is also a tourist mecca (Lake George, north up the road), we get a lot of "snowbirds" here and I see a lot of Florida license plates. I saw one just earlier this week, which makes no sense this time of year. I've gotten to know several and this one older couple who I see from year to year told me that they stayed longer last year and missed two hurricanes (south of Tampa).

I appreciate your posts as well, and you're braver than I am, all I have to complain about is Stefanik! And we sure miss you on MIRT, and this is my third term in a row since we were asked to stay if we wanted to be here during election season. Things are a bit calmer now, but the persistent disrupters and Spammers are just the same. Hope that we work together again soon, we need experienced hands on deck!
