Let's talk about Trump pulling troops from Germany and it hurting the US.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there Internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about how Trump pulling troops from Germany hurts the US.

In a recent video, as kind of an aside, I mentioned how Trump said he'd pull a few thousand troops from Germany because he got his feelings hurt and that the Germans wouldn't care because it hurts us and not them. That's led to this question.

"In your May 4th video, you talked about the US pulling our troops from Germany and said the Germans shrugged it off because it damages the United States, not them." I know you were in the military and I've seen videos where you politely but savagely put someone in their place over them being insulting and I'll admit you have changed my mind on some things because of explaining directly like that. I'm not trying to do that, but I honestly have no idea how bringing our troops home to our country, which is what they're supposed to defend, could possibly hurt us. I'm not trying to be rude, but if it makes the video better to chew someone out, or it's more likely to get a response if it's phrased that way. Hey woman, get in the kitchen and make me a sandwich and explain WTF you're talking about.”

Okay, so this is actually a pretty common misconception from people who don't really understand the US military and don't feel bad because this includes some vets. If I'm in the kitchen making a sandwich, you're watching a ball game, right?

The best defense is a good blank. Offense, right? You want to control the field. You don't want the other team even near your end zone, right? We don't fight wars on our own soil. We do pretty much everything we can to keep them away from our end zone. It's been almost a hundred years since a foreign military set foot on US soil. And we're a country that is constantly at war over there, not here.

Contrary to the beliefs of the brain trust Trump has around him, our troops in Europe aren't there to protect Europe. Their position downfield to control the field. When I talk about force projection, that's what it is. The ability to control the field far away from our borders.

Russia is Germany's biggest threat. They don't have the troops to move on Germany. Germany's population is over 80 million. Russia can't hold that. So, the US troops in Germany are there to support US operations outside of Europe or they're there to treat the wounded from other locations. We have top-notch military medical facilities there. We lose readiness and capacity by pulling the troops. Germany loses nothing more than a little bit of American money being spent in their country.

Trump pulling troops is just the latest example of him doing something that made him an international laughingstock and he doesn't know it. Believe me, other countries are laughing at Trump's inability to understand basic geopolitics.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
