...I believe garland deliberately played along with trump.

In my opinion, garland is just as complicit in the attempted armed coup and insurrection as bannon, guiliani, miller, and every Jan. 6 amatuer minion on the ground that day.

2. From my perspective, he waited way too long to take action, Jack Smith obviously ran out of time

And it took a real pro like Jack Smith to get the process going, previously TFG's lawyers kept delaying any way they could. And of course there's the 14th Amendment, Section 3. January 6th disqualified TFG from ever holding public office again. How can we have a president who attempted to overthrow the government?!

3. Duh. I don't know for sure whether Garland was "outplayed," or intentionally delayed because he didn't want

to proceed (whether malign intentions, incompetence, or some beyond naive' belief that it was the "ethical" thing to do to not pursue the investigation/indictment immediately after January 6 to avoid accusations of "partisanship" ). I don't know. I also don't know if there was any early discussion with Biden upon Garland's being named as AG nominee, that it was imperative to start with the "ground troops" on January 6 rather than to pursue Trump and those involved in Congress--again to avoid accusations of partisanship.

I just know the decision and predictable outcome were called out by many from almost the start. Maybe history will shed light on whether it was naivete', or a malign decision, but we all will suffer the result. As has the entire judicial system. And look what legacy Garland has left to DOJ--systemic dismantling and retribution from the very man for whom justice was never delivered, despite what I see as the best possible last-minute effort from Jack Smith to "clean up" and do the impossible. The latter was hand-cuffed from the very first.

Garland may be in too much denial to admit his responsibility, but whether intentionally or through gross incompetence and naivete' he has screwed this country and its future. Not the only one, mind you, but he shoulders an enormous allotment of that responsibility and culpability. And to those here who perpetually defended him and called out those who did not--well, this is the shit wrought by that desire to see him as perpetually and indefensibly maligned.
