To win another election, the Democratic Party needs to alter course completely and begin to serve the interests and needs of the working class. When you look at programs that would appeal broadly - you have things like universal healthcare, universal education, freedom for women to make their own healthcare decisions. We need clean air and water, nutritious and safe food and the ability to buy pharmaceuticals at the prices other countries pay. Of course we should be bringing back manufacturing and jobs - how about a universal jobs program?

(At the risk of being accused of breaking some rule around here) the Democratic Party used to support these things. Many say they still do. I think they're too heavily influenced by big money interests.
