It was very helpful to Ukraine until he withheld it for some critical battles. If this technology has that kind of power someone will be developing it so I don't see us just leaving it to others. It just shouldn't be used at the whims of a private citizen.
Of course, now it's dangerous in government hands. To your point, I guess. But one could extrapolate that to, our whole CIA/FBI/military is a securtiy risk to America. As is Trump and his cabinet.
