1. The entire prosecution staff associated with all attempts to bring that case should be fired.

It started with a "special prosecutor" chosen from among their Republican state legislators and with a real intent to "make a statement" with this prosecution. While they ended up screwing up royally early on, the replacement prosecutors were no less incompetent and politically driven.

I'm glad that the civil suits proceeded as expected. The criminal conviction of the very incompetent and negligent armorer was appropriate. But, the failure to see actors on a movie set differently and in fact dependent on the experts to direct their handling of the guns is abysmal. It is ACTING. That is why they hire experts to handle, teach, and control all aspects of guns on the set. I can never get Mika (yes, the Trump rump-smoocher) out of my mind when she went on and on about how Baldwin should face severe criminal penalties because "everyone knows you don't point a gun at anyone." Once again, this shows how ignorant she can be in her conflation of real-world ownership and handling with the very different principles and thus delegation of this responsibility to experts on a movie set.

Alec Baldwin has to live with his guilt in this incident. When his name was put on as an executive producer, he was responsible for ensuring appropriately qualified experts were hired and performing these functions. Even if his producer role was more honorary and performative, he carries civil liability for what happened. But, criminal? Bullshit.
