A Balut (pronounced balloot)is a fertilized egg, with partially developed chick inside, eaten while still inside the shell.
Lots of Phillippinos in my boot camp in San Diego.
They use to say “that’s what it sounds like when you gulp it down like an oyster from a shell, “baloooot”.
