A "trade war" implies some strategy.

"Trump's bear market" is already a reality.

"Trump's recession" will be soon.

"Trump's depression" is quite likely.

"Trump's assault on the world's economy" is accurate. Or "Trump grabbing world trade by the pussy".

If you want an American-specific term, "Trump's tax rise".
