There’s an impossible to ignore “looking down from the castle” theme here.

He didn’t go or even send anyone to Dover???
Oh he had already made plans.

In the early 90’s Poppa Bush was in the WH briefing room chatting with reporters while bodies were being brought into the Dover tarmac. CNN took heat for showing it on a split screen 🙄
I don’t think a POTUS has skipped having to do that sad but necessary event since then…until Friday
