when there aren’t going to be enough staff at the IRS to make sure everyone pays what they owe anyway. Every auditor at IRS brings in far more revenue than they cost in salary and benefits. Each audit brings in $2.17 for every dollar spent, on average. Further, the top 10% of earners account for $300 billion in tax underpayments every year. I’m guessing one of those underpayers is Donald Trump.
