It's the old rigid thinking vs flexible thinking phenomenon.

Doesn't matter what an idea is, be it Flat Earther-ism, Heliocentric view of the universe, or 'Trump is on my side' thinking.
Once an idea is firmly planted in your mind, every contradictory piece of information has to be rejected outright, discounted or manipulated into being irrelevant so your basic logic and assumptions aren't affected.

If you are more flexible in your thinking you might revise your perception and adjust your presumptions in the light of new information.

Basically, cultism vs the scientific method.

One group won't understand the other.

Let MAGAts have their meltdowns, smile and watch.
The contradictory information in their heads must be painful.
Epstein might be the one thing that flips their mental switch for unquestioning cultism to WTF-ism.
