In reply to the discussion: Mrs Marble Falls had cancer surgery yesterday ... [View all]marble falls
(72,799 posts)92. I remember the first time I heard about cancer ...
... I was four and I had a playmate up up the street and she had the nicest mother, who disappeared one day and a week later my grandmother told me her mother had died of cancer and she went to live with her grandparents.
After that I saw relatives who were sent home to die with cancer once it was determined there was no more medicine to help them. It was always a death sentence.
Not so now.
