I am not sure very many people here will appreciate such a statement given the context. Republicans refused to vote for aid to Sandy Hook victims of one of the worst hurricanes to hit the east coast. The Texans led the way in denying aid at Christmastime in the dead of winter no less.

The Texas delegation now comes demanding help not with their hats in hand with some newfound humility, but with a sense of entitlement.

I am of the opinion we help people in this country when bad things happen. So are most Democrats. I do not recall a single instance where a Democrat refused to aid victims of a disaster in America. That is a Republican characteristic, so suggesting the parties are both the same on this issue is a crock.

Again, let the Texan delegation and the rest of the gun lovers in Congress choose between aid for their constituents and background checks for gun sales.
