3. Terrible writing by the judge and the reporter. Yay that Sarah's influence has waned.

"By allowing media reporters in the courtroom it has satisfied any perceived notions that the court is not open to the public" would be much better as "Allowing media reporters in the courtroom satisfies any perceived notions..." (having a sentence with "by" and "it" is just egregious for formal writing).

And "Wallace wrote, who was appointed" would be much better as "wrote Wallace, who was appointed...." so that the "who" is right next to "Wallace."

I was an English major and this stuff makes me cringe.
