If I had my way, the job of harvesting fruits and vegetables would pay a worker fairly so we could all eat better, fresher foods.

If I were younger I would grow some myself (I did try and it was an abysmal failure). I would also makes pots of vegetable soup that I used to make. Alas, I can no longer stand on my feet in the kitchen for more than a half hour due to arthritis in my lower back.

OTOH, I notice asparagus is on sale at just 99 cents per pound. So that's good!
