I had many opportunities to perform some of his works as a vocalist. What I can tell you about the experience is that as a composer he demands every last bit of talent and imagination you have yet you willingly give it because it is so worth it in the end. No other composer's music, that I have actually performed live, ever made me feel that strong a sense of devout duty to give everything I was made of, as a musician, to that level.

It's quite an experience.

This is a secular piece but it shows a soloist managing, quite well, the vocal demands of the piece.
