1) No labor charge ... I troubleshoot elsewhere for a living.

2) We may not readily find it ... If the fault didn't leave a physical defect like a burned component, or an obvious scent of 'burned electronics', then we would have to go to the next step, which is locate a schematic ... In any case, you would only have to pay for the parts and docs (if necessary) ...

If you look around the instrument, you will find a manufacturer's label with a manufacturer name and a model number. Using that info, there are quite a few schematics and service docs available online ... Let me know and I will check around ...
