4. Yup... But many of us--especially in the West--deal with this kind of absolute ignorance toward animals

--especially wildlife from ignorant people constantly. To put a toddler on the back of a wild bison in Yellowstone for your photo? Let your 2 yo. stick their hand and feet in a near-boiling hot spring? Try to approach a rutting bull elk in Rocky Mtn. Nt. Park? Honestly. Even the way some approach dogs they don't know is incredible. And seemingly increasing. Maybe it has always been a problem at this level, but it certainly seems like this total lack of common sense toward animal interactions is increasing.
