I just checked the COVID dashboard for the City of Chicago. Yes, there are just under 20% of ICU beds available at the moment.

Of the total 1,102 ICU beds in the city’s hospitals, 94 are being occupied by COVID patients. 800 are being occupied by non-COVID patients—you know, people there for entirely different reasons, like heart attacks and recovering from bypass surgery, organ transplants, gunshot wounds, car accidents, etc.

Life goes on outside Covid.
