Most of the Democratic central committees are run by older people, so this is even harder to fathom.

Maybe it would be worthwhile to express your disappointment to the Illinois County Democrats County Chairs Association. The executive director's name is Dan Kovats. He can be reached at PO Box 3445 Springfield IL 62708.

Let him know what you think a central committee should be doing. We are the foot soldiers, and we matter in a blue state. While you are at it, consider running to be a precinct committee person. This would be a step up from being an election judge, and it is not scary, no matter what some people might tell you! You might do more good there and you would have a vote on county policy.
