On try 13, my sister got coverage through healthcare.gov. Good deal!

My sister in Illinois got a good deal, I think, on her health care. But she doesn't see that
yet; she is still so annoyed by the ten weeks and 13 attempts to get the coverage,
and also, she is still shocked by how much health care insurance is, since for decades
her husband's employer covered it...she was unaware of the real costs.

Last year, they paid $484 a month for Cobra coverage for her husband only and she and her son had no coverage.
(She injured her ankle in late October and has yet to see a doctor for it. I hope she didn't suffer permanent
damage due to the wait.)

Now, for $543 a month all three of them have 80/20 coverage.
So for $59 a month more, both her and her son were added.
Since her son is 22 now the ACA also allowed her to add her son versus him getting a separate policy,
and for 80/20 coverage for himself i'm sure that would have been more than $59 a month (or $30 his half of the cost).
The feds are paying $843 a month in subsidies, or over $10,000 a year for them.
Her main concern is the $3000 per person deductible. That's better than a family
deductible of $9000 though, right?

All she can see is that health care isn't affordable, sorry to say. I'm just IMd her
my synopsis above maybe she'll see she is better off after the irritation wears down.
