Dubuque medical group terminates contract with Medicaid MCO [View all]

How's that privatization working Terry?

Grand River Medical Group last week provided a 90-day termination notice to Medicaid managed care organization AmeriHealth Caritas.

The Dubuque group announced the move today. Grand River Medical Center will stop seeing AmeriHealth members Nov. 1. The decision affects 2,876 Grand River patients, or about 1.8 percent of the clinic's overall patient base.

AmeriHealth patients will either need to change their MCO carrier to Amerigroup or choose another primary care physician that has contracts with AmeriHealth's network of providers and transfer their care and potentially receive a referral to Grand River for some services, "if we have the capacity," said CEO Jodi Faustlin.

Faustlin said the decision was made after maonths of failed attempts to correct issues since signing a contract with AmeriHealth in April 2016. She cited difficulty navigating AmeriHealth's administrative process, which impacted Grand River's ability to provide health care services to patients.

Fuck you very much, Terry.
