CPD officer Coy indicted for murder [View all]
snip-"Coy is just the second Columbus officer to be indicted for shooting a civilian in the last 20 years."
snip-"The grand jury charges against Coy include murder, felonious assault, dereliction of duty for failing to activate his body camera, and dereliction of duty for failing to alert his fellow officer that he felt Hill presented a danger. Yost said Coy was arrested at his lawyer's office this afternoon."
snip-"The bodycams also shows Coy, Detweiller and other officers neglecting to provide first aid for almost 10 minutes after Hill was shot even after handcuffing Hill while he laid unresponsive on the garage floor."
snip-"The criminal investigation was led by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, with the Ohio Attorney General's Office acting as a special prosecutor at the request of the Franklin County Prosecutor. The U.S. Attorney's Office is also reviewing the case for possible civil rights violations."
As a local, I'd recommend following the @WOSU for follow ups. The local paper has a paywall and truly crap coverage.

snip-"Coy and another officer were responding to a call over a vehicle running on and off when they encountered Hill at the entrance to the garage of a home on Oberlin Drive near Upper Arlington where he was an invited guest. As Hill was holding up a cellphone, Coy who later said he mistook the key ring Hill was holding for a gun fired."
snip-"Hills death drew public outrage not only because it was yet another incident of police shooting and killing an unarmed Black man following a summer of racial justice protests against police use of force, but also because Hill was left dying on the ground without police administering medical assistance for several minutes. Police, however, did handcuff the bleeding Hill.
snip-"Attorney Benjamin Crump, who represents Hills family, said earlier this week that an
autopsynu hi commissioned by the family determined that had officers immediately rendered first aid after the shooting, Hill may have survived."- my boldening
