school funding cuts across partisan lines. There are plenty of poor districts in rural, conservative places, too.

The charter schools are sucking money away from traditional public schools as well. The school boards have some control because they can approve charter schools, but the cyber charter schools have run amok in Pennsylvania. This would be a great opportunity to revisit and revise the state's charter school law - another thing that has bipartisan public support.

Now that the Dems have won the majority in the state and the governorship and given the overwhelming popularity of equalizing school funding, the R majority senate isn't going to be able to be obstructionist.
