1. 34 counties are doing ballot curing this year, that's way better than 2022

The curing can only happen when the error is on the outside mailing envelope. Typically the voter will forget to sign the envelope. Or the date is incorrect or missing altogether.

When the County Board of Elections receives the mailed ballot and there's a mistake on the outside envelope, they will try to contact the voter, and the voter has time to come down to the Election Office and "fix" the mistake. That's how they "cure " their ballot. When that happens the ballot can be added to all the others that are accepted and waiting to be counted.

When we started with the no-excuse mailed ballots back in 2020 - because of the Covid lockdown - only 2 counties did this ballot "curing." Now we're up to 34 counties, so that's about half of Pennsylvania. It's a good sign.
