It says KY has been hit with this as well.

It sounds like what happened to our favorite rooster a few months ago. One eye swelling to the point where it was just a big marble he couldn't see out of. We had him on terramycin ointment in the eye, and oral antibiotics. It didn't work. I thought it was probably a tumor. But after reading this article, I'm wondering if it was this type of infection.

I didn't see any mention of it being contagious, but I'm assuming it could be spread by wild birds in the chicken pen. No other chickens affected.
