but not without certain obvious problems, such as: 1) aim better be good (although if unrelated car accidently gets tagged, hopefully dashcam evidence will be helpful) and 2) tagged car can be abandoned out of sight of cops, although maybe aerial backup will notice this.

Probably much better than high speed chases anyway.
