because it will not happen that way. They love to talk about drilling here to bring gas prices down and protect us from being beholden to the Middle East.

But what they don't say is that right now, with prices going crazy, we have to export gasoline because there is not enough consumption here----and that would continue to increase with increased production. There is nothing to stop the oil companies from selling on the "global market", and they will.

They don't say that we do not get much of the oil we use from the Middle East.

They don't say that the reason they want a pipeline that goes to the Gulf Coast is to access shipping----out of the country. If it were for use in this country, it would make more sense to fight for refineries to be built near the Canadian border instead of a pipeline to the Gulf.
