Far-right Israeli minister sets out plan to prevent West Bank from becoming part of a Palestinian state

1. That has always been Netanyahu's goal and that of the right-wing settlers.

They have expanded settlements in the West Bank while the world’s attention is on Gaza. Those settlements are against international law, but given that Israel has never suffered any repercussions from murdering Palestinians and stealing their land, the government most likely believes that no one can stop them. And, indeed, it seems that no one will stop them, even as they keep murdering Palestinians and forcing them into refugee camps when settlers take their homes. This is an international violation of human rights, yet no one does anything to stop it, including the US.
