Caitlyn Jenner on Fox News: 'I Am Trans But I Am Not a Trans Activist' [View all]
After a failed career in politics and several attempts to get people to see her as more than just a privileged reality star, Caitlyn Jenner is going back to doing what she does best: ignorance. Jenner announced that she has signed on to Fox News as a regular contributor. But she didn't, for some reason, understand why LGBTQ people would be upset about her decision to join the network and called criticism of the move "hypocrisy."
Appearing on "Hannity" Friday, Jenner played the game of ignorance and pseudo outrage when talking about Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law. To which she responded, "I am trans, but I am not a trans activist." "I am the most visible trans person in the world." she tweeted.
LGBT activist Charlotte Clymer told accused Jenner of using the struggles of trans and non-binary people to boost up herself as a "vapid narcissist."
"Visibility does not necessarily mean good representation," Clymer told Newsweek.
"Caitlyn Jenner was against same-sex marriage. She was supportive of Donald Trump when he ran, despite his anti-LGBTQ platform."
Meanwhile, Jenner seems to have found a great fit at Fox News. In a statement about Jenner's hiring, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said Jenner is "an inspiration to us all" and a "a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community."
