I didn't run into a paywall. Sometimes, sites will allow X number of free visits before demanding money.
The visits are likely stored in cookies in your browser.
One or more of my browser extensions clears cookies for sites.

Society should not have to make zero-sum decisions on who gets help.
Everyone who needs help should be able to get it easily.
We can talk about concentration of wealth in the hands of a few elsewhere.
