as an attorney at a U.S. administrative agency tasked with supervising processing of major freight rail mergers, often requiring 12+ hours/day work (so slept away from family members to not be disturbed by their school + work 'clocks!')

AND there were some weather issues, when DC buses ran SO SLOWLY due to snow and ice, no cell phones those years, family looked for me @ icy corner to 'assure' my return home after 9 p.m!
