the antiviral and a pain pill that helped me sleep. I felt a ton better about 48 hours after starting the meds.

Did you have the old, single-dose Shingles vaccine or the newer, two-dose Shingrix vaccine?

Get the vaccine. It can be extremely debilitating as TomDaisy describes (and worse). Hope you're OK.
