We are binging The Sopranos again - we've watched it twice (well spread out since it came out in 21 [View all]

years ago).

Even on the third time through, it surprises, captivates, amazes, appalls - how David Chase and writers turn such a malevolent character into such a watchable, fascinating human being that you often sympathize with (along with Walter White of Breaking Bad, such an amazing anti hero!) is like magic.

The first time through, it was the shock value and violence.

The second time, it was about the depth of the characters.

This time through (we just finished season 2) we are enthralled with Tony's mother, the humor (very dark humor), and the skillful writing - but also, how weak in comparison many of the more recent shows (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu et all must have a factory cranking them all out) are. And some of Tony, Paulie or Christopher's malapropisms are priceless.

Now I gotta go have some "manigott" or "gapagole" for lunch !
