Not sure if this is the correct forum but here goes; [View all]

I bought a smart TV just a few days ago. It is connected to my WiFi and all that stuff works ok. My question is in trying to watch sports (college football) I keep getting asked for my TV provider. I don't think I have one because I don't have cable. And if I had a TV provider then why would I bother with streaming? So should I just purchase streaming rights on individual channels (Fox, ESPN etc) or go with what arrived in the mail today; an offer from Spectrum (also my ISP) to get all the channels for well, $45 a month no contract. Comments? Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks
