Good, creepy, and perfect for Halloween. Originally aired in 1964, adapted from the short story by Rad Bradbury (with some great additional scenes).

I saw this when it aired in 57 years ago (I was 6) and it stayed with me ever since—not the adult themes (way over my head) but the basic premise: what is in the jar?

Impressive cast: Pat Buttram, James Best, Jane Darwell, Slim Pickens, Billy Barty, plus one hell of an impressive soliloquy by George Lindsey, most famously known for playing country bumpkin "Goober" on The Andy Griffith Show, (who knew this guy could act?)

Season 2, episode 17. Stream for free, with limited commercial interruptions, on Peacock.
