Spike Lee signs multi-year creative partnership deal with Netflix [View all]

WASHINGTON (TND) — Legendary director and producer Spike Lee is teaming up with Netflix for his latest series of ventures.

Lee and his production company 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks have signed on with Netflix in a multi-year creative partnership deal, where the Academy award-winning director will direct and produce feature films and help the streaming giant find and invest in new talent, according to The Root.

“There is no better way for me and my company 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks to begin the new year than renew our partnership with Ted, Scott, And Tendo — da fearless leaders of Netflix,” Lee wrote in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “Besides my joints, we together will focus on the new diverse storytellers, youth must be served.”

Lee and Netflix have previously found success together after collaborating on four projects, where Lee wrote and directed “Da 5 Bloods” and “She’s Gotta Have It,” directed “Rodney King” and produced “See You Yesterday.”
