I always thought I could quit at any time, and that I just didn’t want to. I loved to drink.

But at some point, I really wanted to and could not. Quitting for a week or a month is not the measure I’m sorry to say. I’ve done that countless times. It’s stopping and staying stopped.

If you are wondering if you are an alcoholic or not, that might or might not be an indication. Drinking shooters on the drive home is certainly symptomatic. High tolerance also symptomatic.

There are many other recovery orgs or tools also, not just AA.
