Surgery tomorrow - ETA post-surgical update. [View all]

The pathology is back - both the lymph node and second lesion are benign.

Partial mastectomy (lumpectomy) is scheduled for tomorrow at 9:30, after they make me glow in the dark to find the sentinel nodes. The glow-in-the-dark thingy means I have to be an hour away from my home by 6:30 am. Ick.

Once I heal sufficiently from surgery, I'll start radiation treatment.

ETA: Post-surgical update

The surgery went well. As near as they can tell, short of a pathology report, they got clean margins and healthy lymph nodes. I'll know more a week from Thursday.

No pain - at the moment - but I'm on narcotics I awoke achy, so once the narcotics wear off I expect I'll be achy again - but my surgical pain tends to be short-lived. I'm looking forward to a few days of being lazy and pampered.
