5. I'm not a Vet and I've never played one on TV...

…but I’ve rescued in the neighborhood of 100 basset hounds over the years. I’ve typically kept the old and sick and work on a shoestring veterinary budget.

It almost sounds like kitty has some sort of growth impairing her elimination. In my mind, that means cancer. And only a more advanced cancer usually shows up in bloodwork. Don’t beat yourself up about not spending money you don’t have on vet care. You’ve kept a roof over your heads, food in your home, and given kitty a wonderful life.

I’m so sorry you’re having to go through this. We NEVER have them long enough. Even as painful as her decline is and her loss will be, it’s just a gift that you’ve been able to share this amazing love with each other.

It’s hard to see it today, or even tomorrow, but there will come a time when you’ll smile when you think of her.

I promise I speak from experience. I lost my 6.5 year old St Bernard about six weeks ago. His bloodwork was also perfect 2 months earlier when he had a cracked tooth removed. I lost him very unexpectedly to Hemangiosarcoma.

Holding you and Trixie in my heart.
