6. Yes, there are anti trans people in Canada

But I don't think any of us should try to wave away the fears of .the American LGBTQ+ community right now, especially the fears of trans folks. In many states, they are virtually under siege.

I don't follow Canadian national politics, much less provincial politics, but I know that for years now, Canada has been a few jumps ahead of us on many social issues, including LGBTQ+ rights, while parts of this country are doing their best to drag things back the other way. It's especially bad for the US trans community, with various states trying to control what bathrooms people can use and passing laws against gender affirming medical care for children or even people of any age.

If I was trans or the parent of a trans child, I'd be looking to get out, too. The intensity of my worry and fear might vary depending on what state I was living in, but with the Trump infestation about to be visited on the White House, I'd be worried and scared, no matter where I lived in this country.
