Because extreme self loathing, shame, and guilt seem to be common issues for people with many types of mental illness. Perfectionism and black or white thinking play into the mix, too.

We here on DU MHS are a great group of people, I would wager to say of high moral character and wisdom due to our ability to survive grueling situations. So it is ironic when we view ourselves as losers or worse. Having a neorobiochemical condition is not our fault in any way. Radical acceptance, as well as self-kindness seem to be the tools to dealing with this. A lot of CBT.
