4. Not so much mood, as a journal I write in daily or as needed

I've kept a journal on and off since entering grad school back in 1978. It's always been therapeutic for me to "write things out of myself". Back then it was to not only help me find myself and what I was doing, but document those early days in grad school, my first time away from home.

Each vacation we take I journal our days - those go back to 2002 or so.

I really got serious about it again when my first book came out - this put me in such uncharted waters (stress, often panic mode - the unknown, being in front of people a lot, dealing with competition, etc) that I found daily jottings, often in the morning, help me to deal with the stress and sometimes fear.

Hope that helps!
