I didn't appreciate how uplifting little things like a quick trip to the hardware store for some three dollar widget I needed for a minor household repair could be. I didn't realize that chatting with the store staff was an important part of my social life.

I miss it now that I'm not doing that.

My wife is a health care professional who is exposed to patients who may or may not have this virus, working in a clinic where personal protective gear is in extremely short supply. Testing is still extremely limited.

That means I'm potentially exposed.

It's springtime allergy season so I go between wondering if I've got mild symptoms of the virus, which makes me a danger to others, or if I'm going to get the virus in a bad way and have to be hospitalized. I've had pneumonia, sometimes requiring hospitalization, and I don't want to do it again.

If I'm finding any lesson (#25) it's that all the things I've done to screw up my life, all the ugly baggage that was waking me up in the middle of the night, it all seems much less significant now. I suppose the lesson is that it was never as significant as I made it out to be. Maybe that's #13 on this list.
