7. My Ancestry subscription lapsed some time ago but the tree is still up

All the work you did, if you attached records and photos and such during your full subscription period, should all be intact. You just won't be able to add many records. You can still add 1880 US Federal Census, and maybe a couple of others. Further, those records that are attached to the tree you will be able to still pull up and see the original records! You can also still add people and info to the tree.

Watch for periods when some of the collections come up for free for a few days. They will maybe have a "celebrate Armistice Day" for instance and some of the military collections will be free for a while. So watch for those!
