2. That was a nightmare

It was right after 9/11 and we were all terrified. I remember hiding behind gas pumps when I was filling up my car. My husband was driving home from a doctor's appointment on the worst day, and I was afraid for him. One of the shootings happened near a friend's (former) home. Another happened across the street from my podiatrist's office. They had apparently stopped at the grocery store just across Rt. 1 from where we live.

Another friend lived in Frederick at the time, and was working for a local radio station. He was the first reporter on the scene when they caught them. We still call the rest stop where they were caught the "John Allen Mohammed Rest Area."

I'm not normally for the death penalty, but I'd have gladly paid money to pull the switch on that motherf*cker.
