My trip to the Medicine Shoppe. [View all]
I had been doing without since the end of January due to an untimely infestation of spider-mites at my regular
licensed production facility. Where I live limits my access to the plethora of merchants I have known for the past 40 years so this seemed like a good time to test my limits. So I tested my limits for 2 months and then re-thought the plan of firing up my old Taurus (built in the last century) to make a 90 mile trip to the city of 'merchants'.
Knowing of course that it was customary to sample the product before purchase, the thought crossed my mind that I should be aware of the extreme shifts in reality that this entire experience could create. My sole objective would be to get back home without being either arrested or horribly mangled in a moment of thoughtlessness. The fact that I had to do this for life-saving medicine was not lost on me and for the next 90 miles I tried to think of a good reason why I couldn't grow this plant at home. If not that, down the street would be acceptable.
Anyway, once I had reached the city, I did some biz, lined up a merchant and went to visit him on my way out of town. After the usual pleasantries and the ritualistic sampling ceremony I jumped back into the Taurus for a final errand before I could get back on the open road. The great thing about this medicine is its' ability to help me see things the way they are. Despite a relatively complicated traffic environment on my route out of town, I found that years of experience and a tranquil disposition served me just fine. I made it home with my medicine.
Should be easier than this.
