25. Well, like they say, every cell phone user is responsible until they are not.

I assumed you implied that every gun owner is responsible until they are not. I somewhat disagree with this as I think some gun owners are never responsible, just lucky.

I applaud your effort to limit every dangerous item or activity based on it's worst case application. There is a nice scifi book on robots taking this approach to protect humans down to the point of removing common tools, etc.

Indeed, guns are a very unforgiving object when misused, but there are millions of routine uses for every worst case use. More gun safety and training? Most certainly. Will there still be some dumbass gun owners. Also, most certainly.

However, I've avoided more horrible accidents due to other drivers texting than I have observed or avoided horrible gun uses. I think it should be illegal to text and drive. I do not think we should make cell phones ownership so restrictive that only rich white guys can own them and I think demonizing cell phones diverts attention away from achievable solutions and alienates the very people that you have to buy into the solution.

Thanks for your response. Well within reasonable bounds of statements of such a hotly debated topic and you got your point across with a nice, non-violent closing line.
